None of the basic core tenets of #openscience are field-specific and most dialogues are improved by hearing from what others have tried.

Does anybody know what fields people are in who contribute to
#openscience in a truly interdisciplinary way? Which fields do open outreach? -
Is there a main conference for
#openscience that is NOT run by a single field, one that is interdisciplinary and inclusive of many voices? -
Such a gathering, if it was interdisciplinary and fostered exchange of ideas, would really improve the quality of
#openscience overall. -
If anybody knows about such a thing — no, not one just about methods/psych and no, not one just about
#opensource — tell me about it pls! -
I'll end with the umbrella of
#openscience — many forget what it covers, inclusivity and diversity are core parts:https://twitter.com/o_guest/status/889248986984591362 …

Perhaps
@open_con? The excellent@kirstie_j may know of more. -
Yes, thank you! I would love to see the stats of per field participation. Which fields actually turn up, and what percentages etc.

Neuro is changing! I'm impressed at how open source is taking hold now in a few areas -- but still a long way to go.
-
I'm not 100% in neuro. I'm way more cogsci myself, but that's super great to hear.
-
But you misunderstood maybe? I mean talk to other fields. Lower down in thread I explain more. Sorry for lack of clarity!

Trying to connect different disciplines and stakeholders, for example here: http://opensciencefair.eu/workshops/open-science-cafe … But yes it is a challenge!

The same problem may apply also for earth/geo science, I think.
