There would be a big difference yes. For everybody generally, the internally displaced people could see their family homes.

For T/Cs they will be free from universal embargo (they are not legally recognised as a country at the moment). TRNC isn't a UN-legal state.

Also for T/Cs they will be free to drink/use water and have electricity etc without being at the whim of Turkey, which cuts off their water

when it is politically fortuitous to put pressure on them.

For Armenian, Latin and Maronite Cypriots (there are the 3 other minorities "protected"/mentioned in the constitution of the Republic) they

will also be free to visit their special villages, churches, etc., because like G/C they remained in the South but lost access to villages.
