Some airlines are iffy abt how heavy carry on is. Once ended up wearing 3 sets of clothes with a bat detector and 2 books in my pockets

we moved continents wearing many sets of clothes, each layer with pockets stuffed, and maxing out checked allowance. Nobody batted an eye.

they cared a lot about the weight of each checked bag, but not at all that we could barely stand with the weight of our own clothes

Did they even notice you were laden with clothes/things?

Yeah we got strange looks and I'm pretty sure people noticed but nobody asked questions...

I guess people pitied us for enduring such discomfort to bypass weight rules. I think I sweated 90% of my water content waiting to board.

It was worth it! Shipping stuff, extra baggage etc are extortionate. A few hours of dehydration in an airport vs £100s and hours of customs

Though later we shipped things and I spent a full week inside the cargo area of Nairobi airport negotiating and bribing...

if the "stuff" hadn't included the best dog and cat that ever lived, I'd have preferred overclothed flights by miles.
