More times was an assumption I made about my own data that turned out not to be true, or I had to read it in differently than expected 2/2

1) at no point did I call it a bug 2) this is not about an assumption I had about the data, it's literally an addition problem

if you think it's an addition problem, then doing `apply(data_matrix, 1, sum)` should give same answer as rowSums, or sum(data[1,])

and by implication, you called it a "bug". Statistical software can't have true problems "adding" things

Really? I was expressing frustration with my code & the situation, not implying there is a bug

Cause yeah, I'm pretty damn frustrated right now cause I wasted a bunch of time on code to do something simple & it didn't work

I've fought with R before, the debugging required is not worth it imo

If you have to test a basic func like rowSums() bc it behaves differently for diff data types or whatever, what will it do w more complexity

As I said b4, 9/10 w/ something like this IME, it's b/c there was something about my logic, or what I believed about my data, not the fxn

When I say debugging, I include data processing in that. Bugs can hide all over the place

Conceptual error is a type of bug, yes.
