And the same for all URMs. It's a really useful way to gauge baseline participation (showing up) vs direct engagement (giving talks).
-
I think Lakens won't reply to my tweets, I suspect I'm muted, which is obviously his prerogative, but I hope others can see why keeping some
-
stats of for example who and how long they talk is useful.
-
Good idea in principle, but doesn't apply to SIPS well because primary activity is unstructured activity to produce results
-
Ex I spent one day gathering materials that can be used for methods syllabuses
-
I suppose one could track who proposes each kind of activity
-
It would to super easy to do - you'd just need to attend. Propose anything, see if people want to join, do it.
-
Glad the SIPS community is discussing these things. As I mentioned in another part of this thread I'm not involved so shouldn't've replied.

Nice to see what I proposed (in no way my original idea of course) was actually thought of by others too.

I guess it's being implemented too.https://twitter.com/hardsci/status/892778045047746562 …

I wasn't discussing SIPS per se, but I have since realised this is a SIPS-specific discussion. Sorry, wasn't in attendance myself!
-
ok, no problem! I do think having more visibility for URMs & modelers at
#SIPS2018 would be great, so please consider attending/promoting -
I need to conserve conference energy sadly to the ones I really need for my work. But I wish you the best of luck and I will promote your
-
inclusivity and modelling stuff!
