Maybe, but there are other ways to do it that don't involve a morally deficient organization.
good but it's interesting to note certain people /groups have gone from APA is terrible for making us take down pdfs etc to it's amazing.

it's possible to have mixed feelings about an organization, right? you can say "I don't like you, but I think what you're doing is great."
-
I didn't like APA before this and I won't like it after this, but I think on balance this is probably in the best interest of the community
-
Yes, that's my point. Mixed feelings and nuance aren't what certain groups originally projected.
-
I think perhaps you're reading too much into people's feelings from 140 characters on twitter.
-
I don't think I've seen anyone say "I love the APA now", or "wonderful, all is forgiven." have you?
-
I didn't say I did.
-
I'm not seeing the contradiction between saying APA was shitty for takedowns and great for badges and preprints.
-
again, unless you expect ppl to have black and white perceptions of organizations, why would you infer a big latent change in view?

I personally find that something worthy of note and perhaps useful in gauging the way certain groups react to organisations, because that's
-
neither what they project originally nor how I react.
