What exactly do you want to propose? "Can I include Profs A and B on my project?"

No I was invited to a meeting by a methods group. They invited me to present my stuff

You want to ask your supervisor permission to present your stuff to another group? That's exactly right and you should ask for advice too.

If a supervisor makes you cry something is very wrong. There's exceptions but usually it means the relationship is going through something
