We shouldn't treat it as a "movement" as this only makes it seem more elitist which is really the antithesis of what it ought to be...

That said, I don't see a special responsibility of OS advocates to condemn this guy. Every decent person should condemn racists.

If we constantly respond it's not functional (& I think that's what we do now). We have to start focusing on long term structural changes.

I don't think "everyone constantly responding" is the threat we have. But if we feel responsible and encourage responses, some will.

I think if people are being jumpy it's certainly not in any place I've worked. So not convinced it's true.
