@blahah404 this is one of the many examples @kopshtik was hinting at. Will #OpenData people condemn this? Do we have any ethical values?

How does this evidence anything except the biases of the source material? No amount of data can fix bad assumptions & racist intentions.

Ethics. I would like to see Open Science/Data ethics.

The new Open Science Working Group
@chrisdc77 should definitely include Ethics in their manifestohttps://docs.google.com/document/d/1VkdWGl9MdBJ3awfUQ6yLjT63Ng5AglExASxZWX1julQ/edit … -
Excellent. I will send this round so other know. Are you aware if professional ethics people have been invited?

This guy 100% sucks, but I think it's a mistake to even group OA w/ him at all whatsoever. This guy has zero to do with what we're doing.
-
already covered a lot in other threads - this is about explicitly rejecting him from OA, because he abuses the label to claim legitimacy
-
Sure, and I'm happy to disavow him on the record, but my main point is I can understand why some don't feel its their job to do so.
-
I agree but also think airing the people who don't think it's their responsibility is a distraction - they don't need to do anything.
-
But if they are OA advocates, they are being used by EK and others like him...https://twitter.com/neuromusic/status/877198102322495488 …

Fair. And actually I'm shocked/saddened to see how many followers we have in common :/
-
I followed him once upon a time but was very happy to unfollow once his agenda became obvious
