Any recommendations for tutorials for switching from matlab to R? Focus on transfer, not start from scratch. @robustgar @o_guest

Good Q, there was a python for matlab users thing back in the day, might be worthwhile doing the same for R. But use is v important for recs

Ah
@duckduckgo, praise your eternal wisdom, results for a quick search "R for matlab users" http://mathesaurus.sourceforge.net/octave-r.html https://cran.r-project.org/doc/contrib/Hiebeler-matlabR.pdf … -
And I strongly recommend using
@rstudio, lots of support, searchable help, environment visible, create projects and markdown docs... -
Plus it looks a bit like matlab GUI

(OK, last tweet, promise) And I couldn't do R without cheatsheets! https://www.rstudio.com/resources/cheatsheets/ …

Tzzz, how could I not mention
@RLadiesLondon? Very supportive environment, maybe they also have resources to move from matlab to R? -
Reinforcing what
@EikoFried said too, the "toughest" concept in R is probably split apply combine. Which took me like an hour or so to get. -
I have a repo where I documented my first use with a ton of comments — no idea if useful, but: https://github.com/oliviaguest/split-apply-combine …
