I don't think the reason I'm not siloed is because I'm active on twitter. And I don't agree that if I didn't use social media I'm siloed.

This brings me back to using "Ivory tower" to mean academic life. I disagree with this phrase. I think it's not representative of our work.
All I know is personally, I was most certainly ivory towered until @DrSmithRIC and I started @AceThatTest

Fair enough. But I disagree with that phrase. It implies a state of the world I don't think is real. It's a dog whistle, altho I realise not
intended by Chris as such.
It really worries me when academics use anti - academic dog whistle phrases.
