Am to I assume that you think it's appropriate because of the title / opening slide? Or do you have any other views on it?
I used term to mean trad view of academia in unis and publications, and that we should go beyond that and value social media and outreach
The traditional definition is what I have an issue with.

So "unworldly dreamer"? This is exactly what I take issue with, as I said. Expert bashing based on outdated equivocation. 
"intellectual pursuit disconnected from the practical concerns of everyday life". Sounds like good approach for science breakthroughs to me
I'm very concerned with everyday life tho. Phd students are too. As are more senior academics. So many examples of academics being useful.
