I have heard from several scientists, that a reason they are skeptical to open access journals, is they fear open peer review #openaccess
Because of the inherent biases when reviewers and authors are not anonymous?

I think they are afraid of embarrassment if comments are ugly...
-
Really? So are they are afraid of their critique being public or they are afraid of others' critique of their work being public?
-
Asking because I think the critique of my elife paper is great to be public.
-
Agree good to show critique. But suprisingly, some researchers want things to be very private and rather closed.
-
I don't mind that if they are worried about race and gender biases. Well-documented evidence for that sadly.
