I wasn't born in US. I don't look down @ maths @ early age. I do know that excluding those who unlike me didn't have that priv = nonsense.

Also anybody who thinks URM have a place in STEM should realise they are dissuaded from pursuing maths at early age in the West.

Not true where I'm from. We don't have stereotype of masc geek. But incredibly powerful pressure to not like maths in USA/UK from childhood.

I was "lucky" to grow up in Cyprus where women do compsci and maths and engineering degrees. When I studied at York, my class had 3 Cypriot

women, out of 5-8 women, out of 100 men. Cyprus only has about 1 million population. The West has a serious sexism issue.

So does Cyprus BTW. It just doesn't manifest in maths = rich white boys.
