There's an R community in astronomy too, though it's not large. The problem for making such plot w/ R is the same w/ C, how do you search?

It does seem a bit unusual for a community that has so eagerly adopted arXiv, but I guess that's been convention for a long time.

didn't heavily start using it till 2014/5. In the interim I mainly (almost exclusively) used C.
