Again that's my point. We agree 100%. They would value me for what I am doing not because of *any* specific codebase.

On a related point: Basically the incentives that should be in place to make ppl share code and/or write code worth sharing are low.

We have a society based on competition rather than cooperation. Cooperation values and rewards the labour of sharing, competition hoarding.
