I tried to look into how to make geo2topo smooth over/drop more points but not sure how to do it without losing everything/making the map

beyond ogr2ogr compression to topojson not sure how to minify further, what's your target size/constraints?

could split the file and load chunks incrementally maybe? merge them as they arrive?

could do, seems like a lot of extra overhead though, geodata is big, topo is smaller, but having things tidy in the same file is nice.

maybe
@lyzidiamond has some ideas re:further topo minification. depends on where you're hosting, same big-ish file might !be problematic.1 reply 0 retweets 4 likes -

Do your coordinates have more than 6 decimal places? You don't need more than 6 or 7, some tools generate like 12 which makes it huge
