I think Lisa's point is that @mdshawkey's position of citing peer-reviewed only but not preprints isn't logical.https://twitter.com/mdshawkey/status/863348386879164416 …

So for econs then you (eventually) wouldn't have to cite a preprint anyway as the final pub form would eventually exist right?
-
I wonder if psych ppl are worried that the low quality of some psych preprints would ruin stuff? No idea if this is true, just a guess.
-
I also would love to know what kind of level of publish peer review they have in those fields. Would make me so happy if comments are left!
-
I had such a great experience with my one preprint but I have seen other preprints with few or no comments and that worried me a little.

I've been citing this paper for more than a decade (as have 50 others) and it's still a "working paper" in econ. https://scholar.google.co.uk/scholar?q=eckel+Wilson+whom+to+trust&btnG=&hl=en&as_sdt=0%2C5 …

The branching of Twitter convos is sometimes not conducive to coherent discussion :-) Also I'm tweeting while baking

For sure. A year not uncommon. Not so in physics however.
