Yes, and after all this is just a view of 58 participants on Twitter - not very representative... Still, gives you some ideas
OK, like which programming language are you most proficient in.
-
-
Yes, things/views/behaviours etc that you can't objectively investigate
-
That one is unlikely to be a mis-report. People know what they are best at.
-
Yeah, I wonder tho, if there's a gap between your real proficiency and your perception of proficiency
-
Hope you don't mind me jumping in... Yeah apparently most people think they're above average re many of their abilities
-
Which if representative is obvs not possible : )
-
Yes, but I didn't say self-report HOW good just what you are best at. Obviously if you use Python only and often you are best at it.
-
But you're not best in WORLD. Just better at Python vs Prolog. That would be the question I imagined. This Q doesn't invoke Dunning-Kruger.
-
I wasn't envisaging a Q where you rate yourself VS others. I was saying best at which language within a single person.

And yes, you do need self-report if you wonder how many papers your tweeps/readers have published/how far in their careers they are.
-
Yeah I've ran those polls (for my blog!)
