Not really. It depends on the question. If it's how many papers have you published, it's obviously more likely to be realistic.

Things like this are never so simple and if everybody reads / internalises only say 10% of a post you could why longer is better.

Yup. And obviously number of visitors doesn't necessarily indicate how many people actually read it...

Tell me about it! Neither does num of comments. In the 1 I linked to some of the comments (I have 69!) show some very lapsed reading skills.
