      there are many non-programmer communities using github effectively - it just happens that the tools are highly adaptable

      agree generally, but there's no lock-in, and a large part of the github stack is open source. Gitlab not nearly as good (i use both daily)

          I think the most likely thing if gitlab were to start getting competitive is that github would go fully open source
