But then what do you call a question that is actually a comment.

I begin all Q&A with "questions must be in the form of a question"

I may have to start doing that when I chair sessions.

not to be confused with the Survivor-question which is "my question to you is: you suck." Also sometimes seen at conferences.

That’s the best of all the quomment. Also the "You suck, but when I did it in 1973 I didn’t suck."

I like the variant that goes "Your idea is terrible, and furthermore, I already published it 30 years ago (why didn't you cite me?)"

When somebody doesn't ask I question I kind of like it. I just say "yes" or "no" depending on what they said and just move to the next.

Once at a conf somebody said after my talk "I can't believe you're saying that because Prof X is not here because of a death in the family"

So I just said "uh yes" and moved to the next question. People get so weird and touchy. Especially at women.

I feel like we either have to choose between people getting weird and touchy “at” or “to” women :/
