Often I wonder if other people feel this way too or if I'm going to lose friends/followers over some of the stuff I think about science.

It doesn't inherently bother me, as I guess that's life. But for most science things I don't care if we disagree.
-
So long as the disagreement's about something that doesn't involve sexism racism some other bigotry, I generally like people just as much.
-
This doesn't excuse people being rude of course, but most people seem to be relatively civil with only a couple exceptions within science.
-
There have been cases I've received rude emails but often they get followed up by implicit or sometimes even explicit apologies.

-
Other times I get ridiculous walls of text which I never as a rule reply to... especially when "sorry" is a tiny little word.
-
On the whole, I treasure friends in science even if we really disagree on how to tackle a problem, what the problem even is, etc.
-
Also tangent, but I'm aware of people who follow me who pretty much only interact with me by faving tweets which disagree with me. Amusing.
-
So I suppose when I come out with a paper /preprint they turbo disagree with, they are unlikely to unfollow since obv already disagree!

glad - that sensibility and insight is becoming rare.

I have had some __extremely__ bad interactions (and witnessed some too) but I personally want to continue thinking this!
