Also the principle of pre-prints making the media kinds of creeps me out — maybe I'm too traditionalist.

I agree - but it's the same with anything that upsets me - it's nice to have heroes (Goldacre, Saffiyah Khan) but so easy to slump behind'em

I never felt that way — role models/heroes make me nervous although I admire certain people for sure.
