I got it — I needed to cast to right type (GeoPandas not Pandas) as it somehow changed (I guess was careless) mid-way through! @DRMacIver

All I've managed to get on export to GeoJSON was ValueErrors from Fiona. (With a boolean column). Clearly not trying hard enough!

I've actually managed to get a dataframe that seems to randomly either give a recursion limit reached error or segfault.

I added an example with shapely geometries to that issue. I think that's probably the right place for it.
