Looks like the avx shared lib that Python was built against is missing from the system. Python tried to call a function that doesn't exist.

Huh, that's a new one for me.

I got it — I needed to cast to right type (GeoPandas not Pandas) as it somehow changed (I guess was careless) mid-way through!
@DRMacIver -
All I've managed to get on export to GeoJSON was ValueErrors from Fiona. (With a boolean column). Clearly not trying hard enough!

cast a geopd df to vanilla pd and try to save as json

-
Oh yep, that's a segfault.

I tend to break out a test case reducer at this point to narrow down the exact bug (I can expand on this if that would be helpful)

Often a bug that is mysterious becomes obvious. Mine is https://github.com/DRMacIver/structureshrink … which works pretty well on python
-
OK, I solved it now. But I'll keep this method in mind!

from what I've seen so far, looks like some library has been compiled for one architecture, and is now running on a different architecture.
-
Not all intel CPUs have the same architecture, some have AVX, some don't, etc.
