but choose to disagree with &/or be rude to their colleagues openly in front of other colleagues. Do they not realise that it's insulting?
I didn't mean the same person for me but ppl in general choosing to voice negativity publicly & positivity in private fora.

I understand :) It's sad that society is not uplifting & encouraging of each other enough. As if there isn't already enough -vity.

yeah it's actually a thing we seem to do a lot in academia. Not much positive feedback generally. I try to be better myself

but it's tough because praise academically and praise interpersonally can have such divergent meanings in diff contexts.
