People are very bad at understanding the difference between "should do" and "would benefit from doing".

That's possible because "should do" has a number of different meanings depending on context of the phrase and sentence.

Maybe? But most or all of them have a normative element to them that "would benefit from" doesn't.

"must" is more normally normative, even though they overlap in meaning obviously. I tend to use "should do" more

probabilistically, like "do you have x?" "we should do" to mean we might.
