How many of you science tweeps use git(hub) for your data/code?

I collected some data on this recently. Lots of people use Github to store/share, a lot less use it for version control.

True. I'm sometimes asked about the best place to store research code. I generally describe Github as the least worst.

And I'm not convinced it's a great place to store data. But again, it certainly better than nothing.

if one's data is line-based e.g. TSV/CSV it's pretty useful IMO. Although need Zenodo/Dryad for final archiving.
