@pookleblinky It seems plausible that a more accessible writing system wd result in fewer dyslexic people having severe difficulty.
Is this true? Hangul/Korean doesn't have dyslexic readers?

certainly but not down to zero. It feels like this might undermine dyslexia as a real disorder to the naive too.
-
`disorder` [s]implys[/s] implies some kind of order .. the question is then who's order is it anyway ??!

etymology is not semantics

@pookleblinky EN speakers are among the most dyslexic, apparently, as spelling and pronunciation have little to do with one another -
sure but does dyslexia actually disappear in Hangul? I find it hard to believe...
-
Disappear is hard to believe, but perhaps it's at very low levels. Any answers from experts in the Twittersphere yet?

anecdote warning: at least one dyslexic friend had trouble learning Hangul and claimed the experience was similar to latin letters
-
that's unfortunate, were they learning for any particular reason? Or just because fun?
-
I don't remember the why, unfortunately.
