Does anybody know how Matlab became so big in science? What's the story? It's expensive, inflexible & not pedagogical. How did this happen?
don't buy it. I've been using python since 2007 what's been missing?

Matlab was launched in the 70s and has lot of money to invest in marketing. Scipy and sklearn since 00s and are community-driven.
