Hi tweeps! I've manuscript w/ neural net neuropsych models. Where to put preprint? @biorxiv_neursci; @PsyArXiv; arXiv Neurons and Cognition?
oh, that's great! No empirical data, all models, about 3 replications some less replicated than others.

-
as far as I know the only difference may be the intended audience. Psy felt like a better fit for me.
-
I think my audience would be primarily, fellow modellers but also hopefully more broadly cog neuro ppl. What were you thinking?
-
I was thinking the non-modelers in my topic area. cog & dev psychologists. Not sure what's the best place for all models all day :)
-
haha nobody knows! Also not just models but replicated with intricate repercussions... nightmare!!

-
where are you going to submit it for review?
-
I think we might as well try, psych rev (soon hopefully)!
-
good luck

-
we'll prob get rejected of course

fwiw, in my limited experience biorxiv gets far more downloads than psyarxiv (e.g. 25 vs 300 for last pp, same paper)
-
Aha! Great feedback and duly noted. So you think biorxiv neuroscience even though it's 100% neuropsych deficit models?
-
don't know how well arXiv cog works- i just know infrastructure at Bio seems to work - people find it & gets read
-
no strong opinions, but if the idea of preprints is being read, then biorxiv seems to do rather well for 'neurostuff'
-
also they review it - If not neuro-y enough they'll just reject?
-
ah of course! Yes, like you just said, I'll try and see what they think. If not neuro enough, I'll try elsewhere!
