What's the best [sci] blogging platform or shall I roll my own on github pages?
Are sci tweeps mostly using @Medium, @WordPress, @Blogger?
I just was told medium takes ownership of intellectual rights to your work though — so not my bag.

WordPress is great for many ppl but if the only option, I'll roll my own in
@jekyllrb instead like my personal site to be honest.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

I don't think that's true... https://medium.com/policy/medium-terms-of-service-9db0094a1e0f#.tpawqe582 …
-
huh,
@Samathy_Barratt is this a recent change perhaps with respect to intellectual rights? -
Sorry, I was mistaken. They don't claim ownership of your work, but once posted to medium you can't access (1/2)
-
(2/2) that post though anything other than the Medium site. (Sorry for the confusion!)
-
ah, right! So you lose the raw writeup you mean?
-
Yeahhhh. I wanted to pull the posts & show the title and first line on my website. But you can't get it out
-
ah no API?! woah.
-
yeah no API is a deal-breaker for sure

I can verify this isn't true. You own the content you post to Medium.
-
yeah we have checked and you dohttps://twitter.com/cMadan/status/830937906084716545 …
-
I work at Medium and can answer your questions!
-
is there an API?
-
also thanks for offering!

I post first to my website, then export to
@Medium and select CC-BY license. The author owns the rights to the content! -
cool — do you mean copy/paste or something more sophisticated?
-
The import function in
@medium is most convenient—it adds a note “Originally published…”—see: https://medium.com/@lorenaabarba/computational-thinking-i-do-not-think-it-means-what-you-think-it-means-6d39e854fa90#.md70ropkt … -
ah I see
— not exactly what I was imagining, but useful! "Originally published at http://lorenabarba.com "
