I'm with @seaandsailor, of you want to post code, stay away from blogger and use Jekyll or pelican. I use pelican myself.

what's your reason for pelican over jekyll?
-
I didn't feel like looking into a ruby install just to get some HTML pages generated when I already had python
-
oh right so reading about it you have compile it locally — github doesn't do it for me. Really not into that. I love
-
being able to edit http://oliviaguest.com from my phone in a text editor.
-
For jekyll, GitHub will compile pages on their end. That's the biggest bonus for Jekyll, IMHO.

I use
@WordPress and very happy with it. But if I was starting from scratch now, I might go the GitHub route. -
yep — having built a couple of sites using jekyll I can't recommend it enough [& u can migrate!]. Link to your site?
-
link: https://egtheory.wordpress.com Definitely not migrating. Took a while to build up readership, not sure that ports well.
-
no idea but readership is URL-dependant so I think you might have a point.
-
I would worry in general if I didn't have a TLD tho wrt to readership. Altho I do not doubt you have pleasing stats.
-
I'm with
@kaznatcheev:@WordPress is good and hassle free. Haven't thought of GitHub. Dislike blogger (limits comment lenght) 1/x -
Medium is nice in many ways, but commenting is atrocious, I wouldn't consider migrating for that reason alone. 2/2

I think
@jekyllrb is great FWIW so I have decided on gh, but I can see why some like WP (not for me tho). - 4 more replies

I've been very happy with Medium (have previously used WordPress)
-
I just was told medium takes ownership of intellectual rights to your work though — so not my bag.

-
WordPress is great for many ppl but if the only option, I'll roll my own in
@jekyllrb instead like my personal site to be honest.

You can try us :) http://alberto.authorea.com (allow citations/latex/DOI minting)
-
does it allow for the kind of compiling/theaming/markdown/etc that
@jekyllrb does or more like a CMS? -
more like a CMS but you can write in markdown as well.
-
thanks for explaining!
