nope. We need a watchdog org I think, on behalf of customers / authors / readers, esp in absence of regulator
or publishing system where pubs are versioned (eg @F1000Research) also authors need full control of source
Versioning is a plaster in this case. You want to tackle the problem at source: incompetence.
maybe we should start using disclaimers at the end of a paper and link to the more accurate eg pre-print
"Since the publisher removed value from this paper, please see the original on biorXiv"..
