I found working for small companies often made me angry, but a large company more or less destroyed me.

Im struggling with a sense of being a tiny cog in a huge capitalist machine. Small companies are very appealing to me!

however, my direction atm is academic and teaching. So.... No companies for a bit after this i think.

Bear in mind, you almost always have to outreach to companies esp after PhD if you wanna progress to prof etc.

Yeah. I know - But universities offer so many more opportunities to do things that make the world better

I wouldn't mind researching for a big company, the rest of university atmosphere would keep me sane

Yeah, my 2017 plans are largely centered around making this work or reverting to something more normal.
