Pet peeve: Really dislike pretending to be in another "harder" field. If you call self an engineer but in psy dept doing psy, fuck off, etc.
Well, to me. Seems like they are reminding us that they are a "hard"(er) sci then the rest. A tiring dichotomy.

If they publish/work in psychology why do they feel the need to dissociate themselves from us/rest constantly?

sorry, responding 2 ur tweet. it is offensive to yourself to say u are compsci because you publish in psychology?
-
but I do not see myself as a compsci — only in possession of such a degree, in UG and close to a decade ago.
-
more context to prev tweet: I think it's offensive if I say it once and (by extension) if I continue saying it.
-
the pragmatics of the tweet you replied to are not 100% clear, I think?
-
i kind of get your drift, esp. when used to implicitly undermine psych training
-
although in general academics find homes in weird places to survive. psych in biz, med, ed school. can’t be purist.
-
Yep. Twitter not best place 4 nuance. I obv have transdisciplinary bg, so I think we agree on important bits.
