Working on a coding project without version control = so fucking painful and worrying to me.
INB4: Why? Because collaborators against it.
and I would need to "blame" each edit using magic since I would not know who edited what on Dropbox... scary!

Hmm. Here's a slightly terrible idea that might help: Have two git repos, one that just repeatedly syncs dropbox and commits

The syncing back to dropbox would require remembering how post-receive hooks work which is a little more fiddly :-)

I doubt anybody but you so far's realised how tricky this is. Also they might notice I'm not using their many Dropboxen properly.

It'd require a bit of scripting and is kinda awful but might be a least-worst technical workaround to social problems.

Then work in a repo that is a clone of that one and push changes to it which it immediately writes back to dropbox.
