I dunno about you but when I did my compsci degree we learned so many from Ada to Scheme to C to Prolog. Some are dead.

@DRMacIver but C = poops despite being immortal – taking long time to die isn't a good thing.3 replies 0 retweets 0 likes -
I do think it's OK for people to like older languages FWIW. C has special problems but is sometimes still fine.

me too. I mainly have a problem with those who love Matlab and closed source and worship them above others.

Replying to @o_guest @DRMacIver and
In science you get those who sadly barely know how to code. They only know how to code in Matlab, and badly.

I've been learning some Python, but I honestly do prefer Matlab syntax; that said, am biased at this point

yeah but I assume you don't have a compsci degree (?) so your bias is very deeply biased (meta biased?) haha

no CS degree, just a general 'aptitude' for programming rather than formal training

I don't wanna sound like a snob but I am I guess: I find it hard to think Matlab = programming given the IDE.

That being said I respect you all for trying – without learning Scheme and Prolog and C I would be nowhere.
