Is it just me that thinks open peer review is not always appropriate?https://twitter.com/tonyR_H/status/794183851220279296 …

to be honest it makes me less likely to want to write a bad review if the work is bad and person is in a position of power
A truly powerful person would welcome honest criticism, even -- or especially -- in public, and see it as an opportunity.
they are scum, and powerful. Trust me. It's Teresa May not both?
don't try to play with words... I'm not ruining my career just because a more senior person decides I'm duty bound.
...and sometimes you can get credit/respect by turning in a good (strongly critical) MS review to someone more senior
really? I got swear words and nobody told them off... hahah I think senior people in your field behave better...
hehe. imo it's the bad behaviour we've got to fix & we can't do that by keeping it all in shadows / behind closed doors.
I'm glad a privileged person feels this way. I'm not so lucky though.
heard that view b4. But wouldn't you feel bad turning in a review which doesn't point out the flaws in a work? I couldnt do that
I'd not accept to review – hahaha. Please don't assume I'd lie!
yeah, that'd be the other route. But isn't that a good thing? Not good to review a paper if reviewer feels too much social pressure
