Confused by that question all the time. I'm American; ancestors were British. Does it mean I'm ethnically British? I tick "other".

my Singaporean ID says "race: caucasian". An Israeli friend there had to fight them putting "Jew" (sic!) on his ID

my Cypriot id has/had religion on it I think... But they put orthodox because atheism is not allowed

in Singapore many forms have "religion" too; they don't have "atheist" choice, but there is "free thinker" :)
