      some do indeed say that often propose violin plots as alternative, see #barbarplots tweets for example

      we can't possibly know if bar plot not too bad unless scatterplot is used. Scatterplot = best default

      you can also better compare distributions but superimposing KD plots or hist - see ggplot2 examples :)

          there's also the work on how people are biased in how they interpret bar plots but not a point w/ error
