Disagreeable open source developers who are also academics are the worst - why make it open source if you don't want users/contributions?
to be bothered by fellow academics... tbh it's kind of against my ethos and a humble brag.

nothing that is open belongs to a specific person at the end of the day fork it and maintain it yourself is the ultimate solution
