What the Success of Brain Imaging Implies about the Neural Code - this looks pretty awesome http://www.biorxiv.org/content/early/2016/08/23/071076.abstract … @DrLoveBC @o_guest
if I understand correctly, you mean plenty in the brain is most definitely not smooth? Yes. I agree 1/2

I left a comment on biorxiv that will hopefully show up soon. but briefly—I think it’s inaccurate to say 1/

that results show that some neural codes are implausible. they provide pos. evidence for _one_ scheme. 2/
-
but as you acknowledge, we _know_ there are other neural codes all over the place. 3/

and conclusion that “neural code must be smooth” at subvox isn’t true—it could be supravoxel non smooth
-
that said, was a great read. particularly like the point about abstract reps being (possibly) non-imageable

I am really thankful for feedback and it will be used to improve paper, clarity, argument, etc.

I have a few more specific comments about points in intro, will try to leave them ASAP on biorxiv

Oh wow - thanks so much for that. Sharing this manuscript as a preprint has really paid off.

I think we explain this too, but it might benefit from better/more explanation. 2/2
