children/teens working 4 money seems a really Western thing to me by far. We do things as childrn/teens but never 4 money.

also it seems especially American, not just Western. But that's not surprising given it's the epitome of the West.

Also it's extremely weird where I'm from not to work for the family business & not to live near parents, so I'm an outlier

this is why imho people from my country are held to be hardworking in the UK. We don't have the same conception of money.
