that said, we also have Pittsburgh, on the western edge of the state, which is also big and interesting and has rather more in common with the places we just came from. and in between, the Appalachians. (also, shoutout to Cameron County, with its 0 NRHPs)

accordingly i'm going to do as i have done with some other major states and try to go in a logical-ish order here: I will begin with Pittsburgh (that's the county with 236 sites in the bottom left corner), then do all the stuff that isn't Pittsburgh or (greater) Philadelphia

and then i'll finish with those half-dozen counties in the lower right that constitute greater Philly. Also, i'm a *giant* dumbass who gets easily confused by the letter P, so expect me to constantly mix up Philadelhpia, Pennsylvania and Pittsburgh with each other in tweets

stats fans, PA has 3,405 NRHPs, which is actually slightly lower than what you would expect based on its population. it's still the 4th most of any state, and the 2nd most of any state I've yet done (Ohio, which is 3rd overall, is still the biggest I've done yet)

that's the self-built office of architect Frederick J. Osterling, btw, who did much extremely fine Gothic work in Pittsburgh, notably the 1916 Union Trust building with it's WILD roofpic.twitter.com/NQ58ZY6E78
