Thank you @KailenShantz. Honestly, I couldn't even get myself to articulate how that comment made me feel and how disconcerting to hear it coming from a person who has no clue of his privilege ... oh wait. ... Who else would say such a thing

Seriously. I saw Danielle’s tweet about it first and just knew exactly who it was. I’m surprised I managed to articulate that because I’m still fuming. And they wonder why marginalized groups are underrepresented in STEM

I think my favourite part is how they actually seem confused as to why we're so angry at them. Like it's some deep mystery that future historians will have to unravel

TBH I find it amusing and almost soothingly to see them struggle... Because whether it's an act or genuine ignorance, I'm glad they are broadcasting to the world their absolute lack of knowledge, empathy, and experience.

We all live on this planet for a set amount of time but somehow some of us manage to realise how others experience the world. I benefit from colorism/white (passing) privilege, yet I'm "magically" able to see how some are treated differently and some are casually anti-black.

The stark lack of empathy for other people is upsetting a lot, but I'm also glad it's being aired so clearly.
