If a reply-all festival begins on a university mailbox that emails all students, should there be any consequences for the students who are spamming the list for the lulz, using ableist slurs in the process? Asking for a friend. Possibly related: I have 221 new emails.

Huh, good point. I'll find out. I don't care about the swearing; it's the ones posting links to porn and using slurs that really cross a line, IMO.

-
I'm sure that's against a bunch of rules including employment ones for you... since this is your work?
-
I'm a PhD student, so I'm fairly sure employment law doesn't apply.

(Unfortunately!)

Ah, sorry!

It's okay! I've been a lecturer; left academia, then ended up doing a Hotel California - apparently I can never leave

There must be a wellbeing policy in place even if not directly related to reply all emailing? Definitely lines being crossed.

I’m going to look into this today. Thanks for the suggestions, friends!
