May even stronger hot take: #vegan food should be the default at conferences buffet events.
There's plenty of awesome plant-based food that everyone can enjoy, benefiting lactose-intolerant people too.https://twitter.com/PsyTechOli/status/1143815217815728130 …

Also not just allergy factors in here. I have, as do many people (it's dramatically under diagnosed), IBS. It's really sad but it means I can't eat most vegan food without risking severe side effects like swelling so much my skin hurts and my clothes don't fit and malabsorption.
-
It's ironic (it's some of my favourite foods) but because of the pain I'd actually be forced to starve or just eat very very little if I was faced with anything made with this stuff: https://www.ibsdiets.org/fodmap-diet/fodmap-food-list/ …

I can't eat any beans, for example.
I used to be vegan. But there's no vegan protein I can eat except seitan pretty much (which I'll have today
), but that's pure gluten which is totally not inclusive to celiacs. -
I went to a conference where it was all a buffet (in most meals) and it was the best because they had so many options and the options were simple ingredients (no hidden onions).pic.twitter.com/IY8UyUlg1q

I didn't realize, thanks for linking the article. Attitudes vary soooo much, I never know what to expect any more.

Well, children died.

-
Oh but here, too. And some still respond with "then just don't eat out and always bring your own food" when discussing allergies
-
Oh, wow. Hmmm am I surprised British people are more compassionate than this? I think no, but in the grand scheme of things Cypriots are the best for allergies and intolerances. Even my cousin's gran took onions out of her traditional dishes for me.

-
(I don't have useful comments but hugs at having to eat without onions).
-
Hahah. It's OK. Malabsorption, being able to wear clothes, etc., is worth avoiding. I can eat the green part of spring onions anyway.
