Note that "entitled to" doesn't mean "should". It's a bit of a dick move, but journals and editors can be dicks sometimes too. Case by case, as usual.

^ pretty much what I was going to say. I voted yes because it shouldn't be secret information, but there's a difference between having an open discussion & attempting to target an individual. Editors are human, after all, and there's enough open-sci dickery on twitter as it is

Why can't we ask permission if we are to share stuff publicly? If we really think something needs to be shared publicly, we can ask, and if ignored, we can still at least inform the person we're doing it, and then do it.
